"A mental illness is a brain disorder that seriously affects a person and his or her relationships with others." It can even "disrupt people's moods, perceptions, thoughts, and behaviors" (Moe 7). |
There are many different types of mental disorders, one is known as Anxiety, which "is fear or dread of something bad that could happen" (Moe 8). |
Some of the symptoms for Generalized Anxiety Disorder, also known as GAD, can "incude trouble sleeping, tiring easily, a feeling of restlessness and distractibility, irritability, and muscle tension" (Moe 8). |
Another type of mental disorder is a panic disorder, which is an "attack that combines irrational fears with sudden bursts of physical symptoms that make people think they are having a heart attack." People that have panic disorder often "say that the worst part of suffering from a panic attack is the anxiety about having another one" (Moe 10) |
Another type of mental disorder is Pos-Traumatic Stress Disorder also known as PTSD which "is a combinations of symptoms that a person may experience after a tragic and overwhelming experience, such as a rape, witness domestic violence, being involved in a serious vehicle crash, or a natural disaster" (Moe 11) |

This book source is great for all people who want to be more informed about mental disorders. This book has everything from the different types of illnesses, to how to get help, information about the mood disorders that may occur, and even help for the future.

The author does not gain anything from this writing, it is just informative to help the people who want to be informed.

There is a bias, which it is favoring the pople with the mental disorders, with trying to give them the help that they want and need.

There are many different mental illnesses such as Schizophrenia which is a mental disorder that is "typically characterized by separation between the thought processes and emotions...hallucinations, a fragmentation of personality, and motor disturbances" (Kelly 7). |
There are four subtypes of Schizophrenia, one which is the undifferentiated type that is "the most prevalent sign...the person's emotions may lack depth, and he or she may show an absence of mental activity" (Kelly 9). |
Another subtype of Schizophrenia is Hebephrenic type which "the hebephrenic person displays childish or bizarre behavior and may have delusions, which are false beliefs, or hallucinations" (Kelly 9). |
The third subtype of Schizophrenia is Catatonic type which is when "the person may not move or talk for long periods of time and may assume a pose much like a satue" (Kelly 9). |
The lasty subtype of Schizophrenia is called the Paranoid type which is "characterized by delusions of grandeur, illogical thinking, and hallucinations" (Kelly 9). |

This is a great book source because it goes into detail about each subtype of Schizophrenia. It also talks about how and where to get help, and what it is like to have to be living with Schizophrenia. This book also talks about the history of Schizophrenia and the brain genetics and chemistry about the Schizophrenic mind.

This book is just informative.
